Dear All,

The MOCK ALLOTMENT ROUND i.e. the INDICATIVE SEAT DETAILS will be published on 3rd, 6th and 9th JULY, 2013.

Please click the INDICATIVE SEAT DETAILS link on your secured webpage in the portal by logging in and view the MOCK ALLOTMENT RESULT.

Please remember, in absence of JEE MAIN RANKS, this MOCK ROUND on 3rd July, 2013 WON'T CONSIDER the JEE MAIN quota seats. As soon as the CBSE publishes that results, the subsequent MOCK ROUND will include the said seats.

Hope you will get a feeling on how allotment is done.

Regards.

WRITE-UP ON PROBABLE PROCESS OF CHOICE-FILLING

Dear All,

Underneath please find a WRITE-UP ON PROBABLE PROCESS OF CHOICE-FILLING.
We hope, this will help you in the right direction.

Regards.

There are broadly three probable processes of Choice-filling:

1st Process:

(A) A candidate may decide upon his/her preference of streams, courses or branches to start with,

(B) Then make a preferential listing of his/her chosen streams, courses or branches keeping the most desired stream at the top and least desired at the bottom (Say a list "A" to "N" i.e. 14 branches), PLEASE keep in mind, number of courses taught differ from institute to institute,

(C) Then identify the institutes he/she desires to study out of 96 participating institutes,

(D) And make a preferential listing of those institutes keeping the most desirous at the top and least desirous at the bottom (Say a list of "1" to "25" i.e. 25 institutes),

(E) Now the candidate has his/her Choice list of "A-1" to "N-25" i.e. 350 choices.

2nd Process:

(A) A candidate may decide upon his/her preference of institutes out of 96 participating institutes, to start with,

(B) Then make a preferential listing of his/her chosen institutes keeping the most desired institute at the top and least desired at the bottom (Say a list of "1" to "25" i.e. 25 institutes),

(C) Then identify the streams, courses or branches he/she desires to study out of different courses being pursued in each of such institute, PLEASE keep in mind, number of courses taught differ from institute to institute,

(D) And make a preferential listing of his/her chosen streams, courses or branches being taught therein, keeping the most desirous at the top and least desirous at the bottom (Say out of a list "A" to "N" branches i.e. 14 branches),

(E) Now the candidate has his/her Choice list of "1-A" to "25-N" i.e. 350 choices.

3rd Process:

For such students who require allotment under TFW or if not allotted then benefit under WBFS:

(A) Such candidates will follow 1st Process with modification,

(B) They will first select University or Government Institutes as Tuition fees are nominal there,

(C) Therein they will first select WITH TFW choices followed by WITHOUT TFW choices,

(D) Thereafter they will select Private Self Financing Institutes,

(E) Therein they will select ONLY choices WITH TFW,

Hence, these students from economically weaker section and having TFW notional ranks will either be allotted from choices lying lower in their list but from TFW quota in Private Institutes or from those choices lying above in University Departments / Government Colleges from either under TFW quota or from General quota but chances will remain that they get free-ship benefits under WBFS. Even if, they do not get free-ship benefit, the tuition fees are nominal.

TFW CANDIDATES PLEASE REMEMBER:

If the rank of a candidate (enlisted under TFW) is not up to the mark, his choices as stated as per 3rd Process might not fetch him/her any allotment if he/she doesn't choose Private Self Financing Institutes WITHOUT TFW at the bottom of the Choice-list. If such Private Self Financing Institutes are chosen for choices WITHOUT TFW, chance of getting an allotment is more. In such case, the student will be considered for free-ship benefit under WBFS in the allotted institute.

MOST IMPORTANT POINT FOR ALL:

FILL AS MANY CHOICES AS POSSIBLE WITH YOUR DREAM CHOICE AT THE TOP WITHOUT CONSIDERING YOUR RANK. LOGICALLY YOU MAY GET YOUR CHOICE NO. 1, IF STUDENTS RANKED ABOVE YOU DON’T FILL SUCH CHOICE OR VACANCY EXISTS UP TILL YOUR RANK.
